History,context,and hidden agendas in Gaza

Came by these articles on Alternet that help place the Gaza conflict in a broader context further illuminating growing evidence that not only was the violence avoidable, but is a part
of larger machinations by Israel to grab more land. Why bust up illegal settlements while allowing others to spread? A faked pullout to disguise a big push to expand and cement their homeland? It is well documented that Israel has turned down and sabotaged their own chances for peace intentionally on several occasions. Why? The proof is becoming very damning. Now they seem to no longer care how they are seen, as propaganda becomes increasingly difficult. Israeli Arabs have now been refused the right to be represented with the banning of Arab parties in the Knesset. Will their supreme court knock that down as unconstitutional? The view of Israel as South Africa is further cemented with this further alienation and disenfranchisement of its second class citizens. Israel clearly doesn't care how that looks. Will other rights be removed from Arab Israelis? Will the Arab Israelis and surviing Gazans share the same fate as oppressed minority subjects of a racist, fascist state----to be expelled or exterminated to purify a truly Jewish-only Israel? There is talk that PNA president Abbas may be overthrown. Could a collapse of that government be on the way? Are we witnessing the Final Solution to the "Palestinian Problem" for Zionism?

How Israel Used Deception to Justify Its Gaza Aggression by Ira Chernus:
All of the suffering in Gaza -- indeed, all of the suffering endured by Palestinians under Israeli occupation for the last eight years -- could have been avoided if Israel negotiated a peace agreement with Yasser Arafat when it had the chance, in 2001.

What chance? The official Israeli position is that there was no chance, "no partner for peace." That’s what Israeli leaders heard from their Military Intelligence (MI) service in 2000 after the failure of Israeli-Palestinian negotiations at Camp David. Arafat scuttled those talks, MI told the leaders, because he was planning to set off a new round of violence, a second intifada.

Now former top officials of MI say the whole story, painting Arafat as a terrorist out to destroy Israel, was an intentional fiction. That’s the most explosive finding in an investigative report just published in Israel’s top newspaper, Ha’aretz, by one of its finest journalists, Akiva Eldar.

Israeli Militants Poised to Resettle Gaza After AssaultBy Linda Mamoun:

Settler activists are counting on their historically strong ties to the Israeli military, with some units composed entirely of settlers, to help in their fight. Indeed, some soldiers and reservists currently in Gaza were there three years ago living in cherished settlement communities. On Monday, an article in the Israeli newspaper Haaretz described the bittersweet reactions of soldiers who had lived in Gaza settlements and are now back in uniform, noting, "Some see it as a first step toward returning to their former homes."

With world opinion, accusations of war crimes,WMD's,possibility of charges to go to the world court, their status with the EU,what could Israel's end game possibly be?
