Avatar Micro-review:


Just saw Avatar.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avatar_(2009_film)
Though I agree wholeheartedly with the premise of this following article,it was a cool movie. It was a recombination of cool SF ideas reorganized into an entertaining movie,nothing deep. The literal animism is nifty.James Cameron needs other writers to help him with dialogue IMO. It's so hard to be original or beat others to ideas in SF. This movie was hardly original in its themes/situations and you can find many existing concepts that clearly inspired Cameron if you look. If the feline aliens(nothing new in SF) in my first novel were blue I'd be pretty pissed and change them, but my blue elf-eared amphibian warriror aliens kept popping in my head as I watched Avatar. Why are blue aliens so cool?
